¿Por qué este proyecto?
La Belleza del Error es un proyecto visual que propone resignificar el concepto de `error´ tal y como nos lo ha impuesto nuestra herencia cultural.
Estas fotografías nacieron a través de múltiples `errores´ que dieron como resultado una belleza diferente e inesperada, sin ningún tipo de retoque en laboratorio ni digital.
Este proyecto surgió de forma espontánea cuando volví a fotografiar tras 10 años de inactividad, utilizando por primera vez antiguas cámaras analógicas heredadas.
A raíz de averías técnicas en las cámaras y por estar desentrenado con el formato analógico, el revelado de esas primeras imágenes dio como resultado el `fallo´ de la superposición de imágenes, sin haber buscado ninguna intención artística.
Mi sorpresa al ver esa belleza tan diferente y honesta me conectó rápidamente con una tensión que siempre he tenido en mi vida personal: ¿por qué tengo tanto miedo a fallar en mis decisiones vitales, si el supuesto `error´ es el nacimiento y proceso hacia algo bello?
Con estos `errores´ visuales, invito al espectador/a a que no se bloquee en tomar decisiones vitales por miedo a fallar, ya que el acto de errar es en realidad una evolución hacia una belleza no normativa.
El proyecto consta de dos mini series: Apelotonadas y Desechos.
Why this project?
The Beauty of Error is a visual project that proposes to redefine the concept of “error” as imposed on us by our cultural heritage. These photographs were born out of multiple “errors” that resulted in a different and unexpected beauty, without any laboratory or digital retouching.
This project arose spontaneously when I returned to photography after 10 years of inactivity, using old analogue cameras that I had inherited for the first time.
Due to technical faults in the cameras and my lack of practice with the analogue format, the development of those first images resulted in the “failure” of image superimposition, without any artistic intention.
My surprise at seeing such a different and honest beauty quickly connected me with a tension that I have always had in my personal life: why am I so afraid of failing in my life decisions, if the supposed “mistake” is the birth and process towards something beautiful?
With these visual “mistakes”, I invite the viewer not to be paralysed by fear of failure when making vital decisions, as the act of making mistakes is actually an evolution towards a non-normative beauty.
The project consists of two mini-series: Apelotonadas (Crowded) and Desechos (Waste).

El “error” en esta miniserie:
La cámara analógica heredada de mi abuelo materno, no pasaba bien la película del carrete en los últimos disparos, superponiendo las últimas fotografías. Tras varios meses disparando con ella y al revelar los carretes, descubrí estas imágenes. No como una búsqueda creativa consciente, sino como un precioso `error´.
The ‘mistake’ in this mini-series:
The analogue camera I inherited from my maternal grandfather did not feed the film properly during the last few shots, causing the last photographs to overlap. After several months of shooting with it and developing the rolls of film, I discovered these images. Not as a conscious creative pursuit, but as a beautiful ‘mistake’.
